Kharkiv – 3D city game with Unity and Unreal Engine
An open-world game set in a recreated Kharkiv, developed as a Unity game and as an Unreal Engine version, with a multiplayer server.
- Client: Own project
- Service: Software development
- Technology: Unity, Unreal Engine 5, C#/.NET server, Tailscale, Caddy
Starting point
The goal was a game in a recognisably recreated city: streets, landmarks, traffic and missions – playable on several devices and later also with two players.
Solution
The game is being built as a Unity project for iPhone, Mac and Windows. In parallel, the feasibility of an Unreal Engine version was tested and built. A dedicated server handles multiplayer and accounts.
- City model with landmarks and traffic
- Multiplayer server in C#/.NET on our own Mac mini, reachable via Caddy and Tailscale
- Accounts and cloud saves across devices
- New builds delivered via our own updater
Status
The project is in active development. Progress is tracked continuously through builds, tests and a bug catalogue.
